Ron Paul has some surprising news for the Tea Party:
You’re being taken for a ride.
At least this is what many libertarians like Ron Paul believe when they see someone like Glenn Beck or Sarah Palin trying to lead the Tea Party at the “restoring honor” rally this weekend. In fact, Ron Paul believes, if you’re looking for real freedom, you should really go back to the core of the constitution and the bill of rights, which Beck and Palin do not fully endorse when you really look at their beliefs. Whether it be Palin’s support for starting more wars or Beck’s beliefs on paying the private Federal Reserve MORE interest on our money by means of a VAT tax.
Ron Paul believes in neither of the above.
Here was Ron Paul’s message to the Tea Party via The New York Times just the other day:
“As many frustrated Americans who have joined the Tea Party realize, we cannot stand against big government at home while supporting it abroad. We cannot talk about fiscal responsibility while spending trillions on occupying and bullying the rest of the world. We cannot talk about the budget deficit and spiraling domestic spending without looking at the costs of maintaining an American empire of more than 700 military bases in more than 120 foreign countries. We cannot pat ourselves on the back for cutting a few thousand dollars from a nature preserve or an inner-city swimming pool at home while turning a blind eye to a Pentagon budget that nearly equals those of the rest of the world combined.”
While the Tea Party will be out supporting Glenn Beck and Sarah Palin this weekend, you wonder how many of them will be in full support of more wars and paying more interest to a group of untouchable and unauditable private bankers otherwise known as the FED? This is precisely what Ron Paul is asking the American public to consider when looking at the Tea Party leaders and see if they really stand for what they believe in.
Ron Paul believes the Tea Party is not about “left” or “right” like a lot of political pundits make it out to be. It’s about the constitution, and limited government.

The author of this story doesn’t get it.The described movement (re: Beck) is NOT about the Tea Party movement. It is about Americanism, as described by the founders. Nowhere does the Beck movement WANT 700 bases. (Where is it spelled out in the Constitution). The author is purposely misleading the reader into thinking they are the one in the same). The tea party is a movement in and of itself and should NOT be confused with Restoring Honor. ANY such confusion is DELIBERATE and INTENTIONAL! It sounds like Digital Meeting Center is another SOROS sponsored web site!
Actually Beck DOES support these wars, he always has. He opposes the mosque with NO constitutional basis. Giving in to the same emotional governing pleas that the left does…”but it hurts the families feelings…” Forget that it is a mockery of our constitution to tell them no for that reason.
Paul did found the Tea Party, and he is opposed to many tyranical government positions the Republicans hold…to include Beck and especially Palin.
Not to mention, beck has never endorsed a VAT tax. In fact he said it’s a bad idea, and it’s coming whether we like it or not. But that isn’t an endorsement. This article doesn’t deserve to be in any spotlight, it’s obviously anti beck/Paul/palin, even if the author has to take his readers for a ride, apparently that doesn’t matter.

I’m at a loss, did this guy pull these “beliefs” of Beck and Palin out of the air because I’ve never heard them support anything like what’s being attributed to them?

Nor shall I. I can’t. Palin is a nice lady and all but in my gut she is not right for high office. And Beck is a great guy but he stops short of the truth at every turn of his words. He seems that he just won’t pull the trigger about World Government, Illuminati, Obama, etc. etc.
I like Ron Paul and I think he is a good man and is sincere, BUT, if he were elected the Fed would remain in place, and nothing major would change. Paul would throw a bone or two the electorates way, but the wealthy Republicans would get all of the meat, as he would not operate outside the confines of the glorious Republican party.

If elected I’m sure he’d initiate an audit of the Fed and, if properly directed, the public outrage at the findings could be very powerful.
I voted for him and I supported his campaign with more cash than I could afford. I promoted him on blogs, in emails, and in person to everyone who would listen. I was pissed off when he was slighted by the media and the obviously rigged voting system, but I was even more pissed off that he “took it like a gentleman” (i.e., lying down) instead of fighting tooth and nail. I won’t go down that road again.
Were he, by some miracle, to achieve the presidency and effectively push for a true Fed audit, they would kill him. Can’t happen? The powers behind the Fed tried to kill Jackson, killed Lincoln, and killed JFK. This is nothing new for them. Any president who attempts to keep or return control of US money for or to our Constitutionally empowered Congress, faces untimely death. These are just a few of the better known names of mysterious victims who threatened to upset the privately controlled US financial apple cart.

The problem is corporations purchasing the government. Obama did not kill free trade. Corporations have pushed beyond free trade forcing legislation that mandates that people purchase their products and services. The criminal health care reform is a perfect example.
Why spend millions on advertising when you can pay a senator $100,000 and force Americans to buy your product.
Multinational corporations control the United States government and our legal system to their own benefit and profits. If corporations were forced out of government then government would shrink.

Mark, although Ron Paul MAY be a step in the right direction when compared to the other presidential candidates, he’s still not worthy of the job because he will not consider the possibility that the elements within the US govt perpetrated 911. Shelley, deregulation stimulates COMPETITION and helps SMALL BUSINESSES by LOWERING the COST TO ENTER THE MARKET (for a given product, service, etc.).
The common misconception among liberals is that somehow regulation makes monopolization and/or manipulation of a market MORE difficult, when in reality regulation only helps big businesses manipulate their respective markets because when you get down to the balance sheets, regulation essentially adds OVERHEAD to a business.
As most small business owners could tell you (myself being one), it is far easier for a LARGE, CENTRALLY MANAGED Corporation to operate with higher overhead costs, because their streams of REVENUE are typically larger and the overhead is consolidated (i.e. each branch’s overhead is incrementally lower than a Mom & Pop store doing the same thing, since all of those branches have central corporate functions that they share rather than each branch having to provide the same overhead as the Mom & Pop store would).
Further, if Mom & Pop want to start a new business or enter a new market, they need to overcome the BARRIER TO ENTER THE MARKET, which is typically proportional to the amount of regulation in a given sector. A larger Corporation has an easier time overcoming these barriers due to their superior resources.
Regulation on a limited basis, and as CONSTITUTIONALLY ALLOWED (by the States, and by the Federal Government where Commerce occurs between States) is not a bad thing, because Laws must be enforced and most well-written Laws and Regulations keep people safe and keep businesses honest. That said, a REGULATED economy is far more susceptible to MANIPULATION than a DE-REGULATED economy, because there are more rules to bend and exploit, thus offering an edge vs. those companies who honestly follow the regulations.
It is one of the great economic ironies in life that “the Rich get Richer while the Poor get Poorer” is used by liberals who don’t understand that their own policies perpetuate the economic inequalities that they use to beat their drums.

Ron Paul is RIGHT!
Ron Paul’s argument makes sense. It’s illogical to support cuts in social programs, infrastructure, law enforcement and education and at the same time support unlimited spending on the military and wars in support of corporate interests i.e. the oil industry. It’s the 800-pound gorilla that no conservative and few liberals or moderates are willing to tackle. The Soviet Union did not fail due to a flawed political system (the Chinese share a similar system). It failed because it did not produce goods for the world market and because its military spending was enormous compared to GDP. We seem out to prove that the U.S. capitalist democracy can fail financially just as well as Soviet Communism. We must drastically cut military spending or we’ll perish as a leading economic power.
Contrary to popular belief, this is not a cause of capitalism because we don’t have a capitalistic economy, boo hoo. The system that saves your ass is the one you condemn, Capitalism. It’s the mix of social welfare, government regulations and central-financial manipulation of currencies that messes up the economy and shits in the face of a “hands off” economic market.
Ron Paul wants to End the Wars and bring our troops home from all around the world, Ron Paul is different from any other politician because he is not part of the establishment and can not be paid off by corporations. This is a little frightening to me — I am a devout progressive, strongly supportive of Obama and all his initiatives, but, and this is a BIG but, Ron Paul makes sense. I fail to understand why we need bases in Europe this many years after WW2 — let them protect themselves. We have done more than enough. Same goes for any and all bases around the world, except S. Korea, and both wars should be ended immediately. Then perhaps we can take care of our own infrastructure, debts, etc.
What you say makes me smile. It is fearful to get out of our comfort zone. But lets face it, if you look behind the scenes you see more of what is really going on. I am glad you appear to be waking up to the fact that there may be a better way. Just not enough people at that point yet. But soon there will be. We have to try something different because the old ways are broke and that is beyond obvious. Peace, what a novel idea eh ? Saves lives, money, time. May even improve our standing with the rest of the world.

The glaring difference between the Tea party movement now and the one started by Ron Paul is that one tells you to figure things out for yourself and the other wants to do it for you. If you don’t know the different you haven’t research either side enough. Plain and simple if you educate yourself, you might actually figure out something.

The person who wrote the declaration of independence was not a church going person. Read and you will find the founding fathers were mostly very progressive minded people who didn’t believe in god, or those that did, ie Ben Franklin didn’t believe in organized religion or going to church, but worshiped in their own way on their own time very privately. Not this look at me I am a Christian parade that is happening now. It is disgusting to hear this country was founded on judeo/Christian values when it really wasn’t. Eastern religion taught all the same things Christ taught thousands of years before Jesus was born, all except the fairy tell magic stuff.

Eastern religion may have a few similarities with Christianity but I doubt if they name in great detail, a Savior hundreds to thousands of years in advance, or are written my many accurate prophets over such long time frames containing prophecies that ONLY fit one particular person, excluding all others, including accurately predicting the city of his birth, that his hands and feet would be pierced and so many other specific details about this person that identifying Jesus as the ONLY person in history to fit the description is even easily recognized by children.

All that said, the founding fathers did take great care in protecting the right to worship or not to worship for all Americans and without a state authorized religion. Ron Paul is up front about his faith but you will never hear him tout it or in any way attempt to force his religious beliefs on anyone else, especially by law. That would go against everything Ron Paul stands for. The guy is bulletproof when it comes to being the right man for the Oval Office!

That’s the beauty of Ron Paul though. HE is a christian, but he doesn’t let that get in the way of his political beliefs.

Ron Paul hit on a couple of great points…we need to pull the troops out of other countries because we’re not nationally focused as an economic power…we spend way too much military dollars and not enough domestic revenues…time to end all pretenses and get the troops back home…let the other countries have their chances to recover and run their own governments…let’s concentrate on our country and get its dollar strength built up!

I agree with you John, but I see where Al may be going. So many faiths require that their adherents live according to certain laws. In others, proselytizing by the faithful is the only path to redemption. A Muslim believer in Sharia law could never be a libertarian.
Clearly Ron Paul is not a biblical literalist, and recognizes the necessity of separation of church and state, so this is not an issue.

True Libertarian defined by who? Since when did religious affiliation have to dictate what your political beliefs are. Libertarian is derived from the word liberty (or liberal), which means “freedom”. That being said, I would think a true libertarian would believe in freedom of religion with separation of church and state regardless of what their personal faith is. I like to look at Ron Paul as a man that believes in upholding the constitution, plain and simple, and I don’t know if there is any political party label you can put on him because there’s not many out there like him, if any.

Actually, true libertarians realize it isn’t up to them to dicate to others their religion.
While I very much respect Ron Paul and I love that he’s one of the few politicians speaks the truth about our country’s insane foreign policy – I do believe he’s seriously misguided in some of his ideas. Libertarian ideals are great when it comes to civil liberties – I’m on board 100%. But true freedom will not come for the majority of people without governmental restraints when it comes to big business. Otherwise we are headed right to another gilded age. In fact, that’s where the Republican policies of the last 30 years have us headed now.
I agree, we need small government – and one of its functions should be to constrain big business from becoming a shadow government. I don’t believe that is inconsistent with Ron Paul’s belief.

The Tea Parties originated from the Ron Paul campaign but were adopted and continued by local activists. Some were started and are part of the machine Paul speaks of but the flaw in his statement is HUGE!

Dr. Paul would have won last election, he clearly won all the debates and the polls proved it. Go back and watch them, they are all on youtube, there are some awesome debates. But the MSM is owned by a few corporations who own the government (through their paid off politicians anyways). Hopefully 2012 will be different, the current politicians and the Fed, the PTB (powers that be) if you will are afraid of Ron Paul. I have really seen Ron Paul grow since the last election, I think in 2012 he will be better prepared and even more people willing to listen.

I’m also tired of, not only excess taxes & wars, but:
1. Career politicians. Why is there no term limit for the House & Senate?
2. Senile old fools on the nation’s highest court being left there until you’re not sure if they’re dead because they haven’t moved in over an hour. Worse, when they leave (feet first wouldn’t surprise me since there’s no age limit for THEM, unlike the rest of the US), they’re being replaced by people who intend to legislate from the bench, appointees with (again) NO term limits, no mandatory retirement, NO standards (Elena Kagan hasn’t ever been a judge; how does she rate being a Supreme Court Justice?). The closest we get to them being subject to the will of the people is the Senate confirmation proceedings. (I wonder when the House & Senate are going to wake up & realize they’re making themselves unnecessary if the judges can make laws without regard to what “we the people” want? It’s going to be a piece of cake for them to disband Congress; all they have to do is hand down a decision that the legislative branch isn’t necessary. There ARE countries ruled by their supreme court, & most of them are corrupt.)
3. Campaigning for the next election that starts about a week after inauguration, it seems. We need to limit the amount of time someone can campaign, period; doing so, especially for those seeking re-election, would allow them to do the job we pay them to do, instead of making campaigning a full time occupation. Plus, limit the amount of money they can spend so others who are qualified but poor might have a chance at running for office. In the UK, there is, I believe, only 4-6 weeks of campaigning permitted if memory serves from when my husband was stationed over there. While I can’t endorse the idea that the PM gets to decide IF & when there will be another election, I do like the limits on how long they can campaign. And can we please pass a law to make robocalling illegal as a campaign tool?
4. The preponderance of trial lawyers in the legislature practically guarantees things like lawsuit abuse are never going to see any real reform. We need to make it a law that you can give input on laws affecting your profession but you can’t vote on it. Maybe THEN an OB wouldn’t go bankrupt while abortion doctors make tons of cash under the table, much of which is unreported to the IRS (I’m a RN, I’ve heard them talk about the cash haul from those clinics). That, on top of the fact no matter how shoddy the procedure was done, I’ve yet to see a woman win a malpractice case against an abortion doctor, but they can sue an OB over practically nothing until the statute of limitations runs out AFTER the kid reaches age 21 (meaning they’re not safe from lawsuits until the kid’s 28 at least). Abortion may be legal, but it’s rarely safe; from what I’ve seen of the complication rate, women would be better off with hangars. I don’t like abortion, but if they’re going to do it, at least have some standards of care & adhere to them.
5. On a lighter note: There are so many stupid laws passed, so here’s one that will actually do some good: If they’re going to pass idiot laws, pass one that forbids TV advertisers from quadrupling the volume of their ads on TV; I’ve about jumped out of my skin more than once from the sudden increase. I’d bet there are old people who’ve had cardiac events because of it (but then, with Obamacare, we have to get rid of old people & those with chronic conditions or we can’t afford it-oh, wait, we can’t afford it anyway).
We need people who have been marginalized from the unfair electoral system and Corporate media to come together & back a 3rd slate of candidates. All anti-war, pro-decentralization groups need to band together, including those who would support such people as Ron Paul, Jesse Ventura, Ralph Nader, Cynthia McKinney — all Libertarians, Greens, Constitutionalists, etc., need to put aside ideological differences to end Authoritarianism at home and Empire-building around the world.

Are you kidding me? I listened to Ron Paul and his opinion on illegal immigration. I would never vote for him for President. Read Sarah Palin’s book. She is as real as apple pie and what she did for Alaska she could do for America with the right peoples support. Her watch dog committee cited British Petroleum for their use of substandard materials way before the Gulf Oil mess. This mess is not cleaned up and will be with us for centuries instead of the the three decades Alaska efforts at cleaning up the Valdez took and its after effects.
Remember when she was the darling of the Democrats for going after her own parties corrupt politicians and putting them in jail. Then when she becomes a threat the ethics vilolations started some 300 in all by the Democrats. She spent all her time and half a million defending herself. Wake up Americans. Vote out all the incumbants if they have ever been arrested, have lousy credit, been charged with spousal abuse, had affairs or failed to pay their taxes. I wouldn’t hire any of them if I could not get a good credit rating or a crimianl clearance so why do you vote for them. I am telling you SARAH PALIN is the real deal. She is who she says she is and you know where she stands when she shoots off at the mouth. She isn’t a politician who is always tempering their opinion so as to not lose a vote.
I am just waiting for all these white-middle class folks (and I would be one of them) to lose their jobs, and be unemployed for several months, not able to feed their families, lose their houses, get a serious illness while uninsured. (And this has already happened in my community) All of the sudden, they support government support. Isn’t that funny?
We’ll see how long all those Suburban-driving, soccor-moms support Palin once their husbands lose their jobs, they have to go to work, and they can’t afford their department store lipstick.
If they come to me asking for help, I am going to tell them to ask Beck with his millions and their girlfriend, Palin, with her millions from the money they gave her for speaking engagements and books sales. See the real “love” come forth then.

I agree with the guy wanting to set up the guillotines. Armed revolution is the only option we have left. Even if the republicrats take back the house and senate in nov. nothing will change. perhaps the rush to the NWO will slow down from 100mph to 90mph, but I doubt even that will happen. We have lost control of the US. Massive round-up and deportation of all those bloodsuckers who live off the government is our last best hope. No republican form of government can survive 300+ million people. The ranks must be thinned. Around 200 million is tops for our republican form of government. The truth is, at this point any vote for any one of the present candidates is a meaningless vote. Our Government has grown into a monster. It feds upon itself and it’s appitite is unsatable. We are merely fodder and one day, when we are ALL starving and homeless, we will collectively open our eyes and the illusion of God and Country will vanish as rapidly as the American Dream that our parents worked so hard to achieve has. We are ruled by liars, cheats and criminals, and the sad fact is, we keep electing them over and over again. Glen Beck isn’t the answer, he is as crazy as John Brown. Palin is a mouthy, ill-informed, glory seeking, ex(?)-politician who believes that telling someone to shut up is the final answer to all debates. Whatever… We have the best government money can buy and that’s the problem.

There is NO leader of the the Tea Party. Claiming to pick heads of it is the first clue you really don’t get it. If you REALLY want to know where the Tea Party really started, it started with an exasperated man on the floor of the Chicago Merchantile Board, who words sparked a flame in the hearts of a few in a few disparate parts of the nation. Those few kindled those sparks into the conflagration we now see. Those few are in places of prominence, but they in no way “lead” the movement. As seen with the Tea Party Express, we are slaves to no king, and Principles only lead us.
Libertarians need to wake up and quickly – adopting this obnoxious hypocrite as your patron saint is only making your end of the movement look foolish. His policies are dangerous and arrogant, and will ultimately lead to a French-or-Bolshevik-style Revolution. You don’t have to look hard to find he’s a false idol.
I support Ron paul but I have never heard Glenn Beck saying he wants more money going to the FED. Also he says either fight to win or get out of the current wars. As for Palin I like her for getting under the skin of the Rats but think she needs to spend a month of Sundays studying the Constitution with Dr. Paul.
I wish Dr. Paul could speak more often and help some of us (Me!) further understand his commentary. Many times he speask over my head and I scramble to find out what he meant.

How long have these debates been going on. Nothing improves no matter who is elected. Things will continue to get worse. The world is at the brink of a major shift. The current level of corruption cannot be sustained. Even Ron cannot solve these issues. Anyone who says they can restore or solve these problems is a delusional at best. Most people sense we are at the brink but don’t want to admit it because what could be next is so much worse. It is time to get it through your thick skulls. We simply lack the desire and the ingenuity to solve these complex issues.

Tea Party was originally started and stands for T.E.A. (taxed enough already) to lobby & support candidates who will not spend, spend, spend (as in Obamacare & Cap & Tax, carbon credits, etc) and thus slam us with more taxes. We have the 10th Amendment and every State should be ratifying it to limit the Federal government’s powers and limit it in size. (The Federal govt is the only one that is hiring and hiring at pretty hefty wages.)

We cannot restore the country overnight, it will take time and a few elections. Mr. Paul is NOT our leader. WE THE PEOPLE are the leaders and there are many of us. To restore this country will take many steps, we are just beginning. Mr. Beck has pointed to our roots and has reminded us that we have strayed farther off course than originally thought. We are now making some of that course correction. Mr. Beck and Mrs Palin do endorse the constitution and like everyone knows, there are parts there that need restoring and the people will do the restoring. The restoration will happen at many levels and will include personal, local, state and federal governments. We are awakening.

Whether you like the man (George W. Bush) or not, most people would agree that raising taxes in a recession is a bad idea. If you’re one of the people who thinks it’s fine because it doesn’t affect you, think again. If you have a job (or even if you don’t) it affects you because it affects people that employ people. One way or the other, everyone pays for a tax hike.
I joined Ron Paul’s “tea Party” back in 2008. Since then the movement has been high jacked by right wing nutt jobs. Beck and Palin should go somewhere else and make thier money. Don’t use this movement for your personal gain or publicity. We need to get back to the origanal concept of the party. And that’s a No party mentality.
